SYCAMORE IS PROUD TO CELEBRATE ITS 100TH YEAR.
Founded in 1926 in Peterborough, Sycamore marks 100 years of continuous service in the retail automotive business, remaining proudly privately-owned throughout its history.
Over the past century, the business has grown alongside the communities it serves. With locations in Peterborough, Stamford, Uppingham, Witham, and Wolverhampton, Sycamore has consistently provided a personal approach to customer care, built on strong relationships and a deep understanding of local needs.
Today, Sycamore works with leading automotive brands, including BMW, MINI, BMW Motorrad, Harley-Davidson, Yamaha, Royal Enfield, Aprilia, Moto Guzzi, Vespa, and Piaggio, across sales, servicing, and accident repair, supporting thousands of customers each year. Many of those relationships span generations, with families returning time and time again—a reflection of the company’s long-standing commitment to doing business the right way.
This is 100 Years of Sycamore.
And the journey continues.
Built on people
At the heart of Sycamore’s success are its people. Many colleagues have dedicated decades to the business, building exceptional expertise and long-standing relationships with customers and communities.
This continuity has enabled Sycamore to successfully navigate a century of change, alongside the evolution of vehicle technology and electrification, while remaining true to its business values.
looking ahead
As the automotive industry enters a new era with electrification, Sycamore continues to invest in its future. With a growing focus on digital retail and enhanced customer experience, the business is committed to supporting the next generation of motorists and riders.
While technology and mobility evolve, Sycamore’s promise remains unchanged: exceptional service, delivered by people who care.
“This milestone represents more than longevity; it reflects over 100 years of consistency in serving our customers with integrity, expertise and care.
Elijah Sycamore originally created a partnership on 8th May 1908 and then went on to register the limited company in 1926. My father bought Elijah's three dealerships in the sixties, sold one, and the other two joined his existing group of dealerships. We have been the proud custodians of the Sycamore brand ever since. We are incredibly proud to have supported generations of customers and to have worked alongside dedicated colleagues who have shaped the business into what it is today.
As we look ahead, we recognise our responsibility to carry these values forward, investing in our people, embracing new automotive technologies and continuing to serve our communities for many years to come.”
